Are You Ready For Some
Skiing! The Grand Mesa is the eastern boundary for the
valley. It rises to over 12,000 ft. and squeezes the Colorado
River out of the Rocky Mountain foothills into our fair valley. It
is purportedly the highest flat topped mountain in the world
pushed upward intact eons ago by volcanic forces which left an
area of incredible mountain beauty with lakes and streams for
fishing, trails for hiking and mountain biking and world class
cross county skiing on trails that track through total wilderness.
As well, the Grand Mesa provides for the year round ski and resort facilities at
Powderhorn.
